Mark Menzies calls on residents to back Theresa May

Fylde Conservative candidate Mark Menzies has called on residents to back Theresa May in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking about the early election, Mr Menzies said it was vital the party leader be given the strongest possible hand in negotiations as the UK leaves the EU.

Chairman's farewell

Councillor Brenda Ackers has been chairman of Fylde Conservatives for three years since March 2011.  She is now leaving her position after a most successful time in office and bids farewell to all those who have supported the association during her tenure.

£100,000 to develop Fylde towns.

A successful bid for central government funding by Fylde Borough Council has resulted in £100,000 being made available to improve the visual amenties and attractions of Fylde towns to encourage more visitors and boost local shops and businesses.

10th Anniversary of recycling in Fylde

 The tenth anniversary of recycling in Fylde is being celebrated with three roadshows to be held in Lytham, St. Annes and Kirkham. By coincidence, the anniversary coincides with National Recycling Week when recyclers across the nation look back on their achievements. 

Dedication of Fylde's Spitfire memorial

Fylde’s Spitfire memorial is to be declared officially open at 1pm on Friday 21 June. The dedication ceremony for the RAF Fighter, Bomber and Coastal Command memorial will be just two days before the 71st anniversary of the shooting down of Lytham St Annes’ Spitfire W3644 and the loss of  her pilot Sergeant Alan Leaver-Ridings.
