Once again I am offering myself for election for Freckleton Parish and Fylde Borough Council East ward.
I want to serve the community for very straight forward reasons. I take a great deal of pride in our village with an eagerness to see it prosper and develop in the right way.
Recent media attention has been dominated by one thing, yet in conversation with residents of Freckleton and Fylde, the topics which most frequently arise are the quality of our roads, children’s schools, cleanliness and safety of our neighbourhood, bin collections, policing, sports facilities—in short areas which local councillors can make a difference. These local issues I will strive to improve.
The Memorial Park children’s playground is now complete, having achieved phase 3 last year. A number of years ago, myself and the Friends of the Memorial Park group decided to fund raise to achieve this upgrade, which has now provided a first rate facility for our children.
I focus my work at Fylde Borough on environmental issues, including the In Bloom initiative, clean streets and an efficient refuse service. The shoreline defences installation has been my undertaking, in securing funding and installing this project, now being installed, a £20 million scheme preventing flooding in Fylde.
Finally I emphasise my willingness and eagerness to serve the well being of our community in Freckleton and Fylde Borough in shaping them into a place of prosperity. To help me do this I would appreciate your vote on May 2nd.
